Recycled Wine Bottle Necklace

This gorgeous pendant is created from the neck of an old wine bottle.

I love the colour of this glass. The blue is an unusual colour for a wine bottle and when I saw it in someone's recycling box I have to admit I helped myself. After all it wouldn't have been in the box if they wanted it.

Once it was cleaned I used my kiln to melt it, slumping the glass and taking off all the sharp edges. It's got a lovely flat bottom which sits well against your skin.

And it's very tactile, the sort of thing you want to rub your thumb over and caress. I love how it catches the light too.

I've used a strong leather cord with sliding knots, so it should fit anyone and you can get it to sit at any length you like.
